Do you think College Confidential is poisonous in a way?

You should post this in the parent’s forum.

Yes.
Like much of our society, it leads to a belief that All the kids are way above average, and go to super expensive exclusive prestige schools. When most of the kids n the country would be thrilled to attend a state u

I posted about college confidential on another forum I use. They did not have good things to say:

  • full of ***** teens.
-I hate that forum just a bunch of asian kids talking about grades and how to get into a good college. good if you want some general goals for where to be. bad if you are dumb/want self esteem/actually in need of help
-I always lol @ those types of forums.
Its all I have 99.9% average bunch of ecs captain of all teams in my school president of student council, will i get in…strong estats.
    -Makes me depressed

@angespanges: Thank you so much. =)

I just wish I found CC before my senior year. When everyone at school told me I was the smartest girl they knew and that I’d get into any college I want etc, etc, I used to believe them.

But then I was exposed to the outside world of over-achievers.

If I had found all these perfect scorers before, I probably would have been a lot more motivated to do better, rather than just settle for a 31 ACT. And I thought people who accused colleges of favoring URMs were just bitter because they were rejected…but then I saw College Confidential’s results thread. haha

I wish I wasn’t such a na

Haha, I agree. College Confidential gave me that look into the world of high-achievers, and it kind of woke me up, in a way. Before I thought that I was smarter than average, and perhaps I was, in my school. But in CC resides a pool of top notch students that I can only strive to be as amazing as. Sometimes it’s a little depressing, but most of the time what I find here is hugely beneficial and motivating.
