I’m a senior atm and will most likely apply to Tufts. Here are my credentials:
-3.43 weighted cumulative GPA (really pushing for that 3.5 this semester)
-Mostly Honors classes (mainly English, Math, and Social Studies) throughout high school
-2 AP Classes
-My highest SAT scores (New SAT) are a 580 in math and a 630 in Reading (combined to 1210)
-Consiserable music extracurriculars
-Some community service
-Other Honors such as Music Honor Society and French Honor Society, High honor roll and honor roll, and a music award
Honestly, I’m mostly applying just becsuse it’s the only “prestigious”/borderline Ivy League school on my list, and I just want to see if I’d get in. Also, I hear they have a great Medical program, and I plan on going in Pre-Med.
I don’t think you have much of a chance at Tufts as your scores and gpa while solid, are low for the school. But as long as you have safeties and matches on your list, no harm in trying
No chance; I’m sorry. Both SAT scores are way, way below Tufts’ 25th percentile and a 3.5 weighted is not competitive for Tufts. You can apply, but it would be a wasted application.
Consider Brandeis as a reach school- if the finances are right, you could do ED there. It’s a good school for premeds as well.
More realistic options would be Goucher and Clark.
When researching Tufts, you can come to find that they do not accept purely based off the numbers game. Yes, they are very important to the process and, yes, your scores are low, but the admissions teams look deeper. They try to see if your scores are high for your particular geographical area. They also take into account your interest, based on your admissions process decision, your essays, and your interview, which isn’t required. The process is holistic and completely open to the admissions team to decide. While your GPA and scores are below average for Tufts, I would never say you have a 0% chance of getting in! Try to stay positive
