Do you think I still have a chance?!

I was accepted to Penn this year but decided to go to Georgetown by May 1. I had some buyer’s remorse that I thought subsided but honestly never went away… For a number of reasons, I really wish I had chosen Penn, and if I could rewind time, I would.

Do you think if I called the admissions office tomorrow and told them that I changed my mind and explained everything that they might give me a chance? Have you heard of this happening before at Penn or other schools, especially selective ones like Penn? I’m going to call and see, but I’m just curious about everyone else’s thoughts and experiences.

I think you have nothing to lose by calling to ask. I have met a someone who turned down Princeton for Duke on May 1st, then called Princeton in July to ask if it was too late for him to change his mind. He’s graduating from Princeton in a few days. Good luck with your decision.

@coffee1234 What happened when you called?

@lslmom Well I had planned to talk to my parents in the morning, but I realized that it would be much easier to convince them if I left them an explanation/argument for them to read while I was at work… So they could react and think about it first. I’m less and less sure that they’ll even let me call. I finished the explanation yesterday and left it on the kitchen counter, so if all goes well this evening, I’ll call tomorrow

@coffee1234 good luck! My son struggled with his decision too

Thank you @lslmom . I felt like I emphasized my experiences visiting the schools in April way too much over tangible opportunities.
