<p>I was honestly disappointed in UMD for not releasing decisions today. Honestly, its not some big government secret that EVERYONE needs to hear at some “late jan” day. Especially if UMD is ready to give out the decisions. My guess is they want the letters and the online posting to be on the same exact day. Fairness? Anxiety…sigh</p>
<p>^Agreed. If there was some technical problem/if we could have ONE specific date, then it’d be different. But considering we had to have our applications in so early, it’s very frustrating to get these ambiguous answers.</p>

<p>Im also curious if they had heard online. But then again, do you know for sure they got accepted. Its just weird if over 10,000 (dunno actual #) apply same time, and only 3 of them heard, while the other 9,997 people havent. Haha, seems kinda suspicious. Unless they have insiders in the UMD admission counselors ;)</p>
<p>i have no clue. it was a facebook status update so i asked them if they heard online but no response yet…im feeling as though they are just messing with people because everyone who commented on it was like “oh my gosh! i haven’t heard anything! how did you find out?!”</p>
<p>I think everyone is on the border of that pure “CANT WAIT” feeling. Haha maybe tomorrow :)</p>

<p>while I’ll check at midnight, and several times tomorrow, I’m pretty sure UMD is waiting until monday. I don’t even care at this point. I’m almost mad at them for being so vague, and then ACTUALLY waiting until the very last day (or the second to last FWIW) of the month to release decisions. Most colleges release decisions a day or two early- not UMD.</p>

<p>@djohnson SAME. i’ve been checking the UMD website, my email, and this thread nonstop for the past 48 hours… and just like superghuman said… i’m STILL going to check all day tomorrow even though i’m 99% sure decisions won’t be released until monday. This is ridiculous and i’m legitimately annoyed at this point, as I’m sure everyone else is.</p>

<p>@jstersh- I agree. People have said they have a friend who knows a friend that works in the admissions office. They said that about release dates and were wrong. </p>

<p>dfirst-I think that’s pretty hysterical. And I’m sure those adcoms watch these CC threads. People were posting that the Miami/Ohio EA results, that were scheduled for release Feb 15, were knocking MO off a lot of kids mental list of potentials. Kids who had been getting rolling and EA decisions from competing schools since October. SUre enough-thousands of “welcoming letters” were mailed to accepted students mid December. I picture UMD adcoms with a case of Bud going “How many do ya think we can release before an accepted post on that confidential thread?” “I know, let’s release 75 and keep the “no one’s been accepted yet” message up…then we’ll release the Spring Acceptances before the Fall…just to see the Fall kids panic…where are the doritos dude…”</p>
