No, I like being Corrected. Thanks :)

no your right some people can be friendly about it and some people can have a small snoody undertone about it----it just reminded me of my AP english teacher---shudder----she's a very condescending elitist-----i was just kidding really-feel free to correct me- i guess it keeps all our post all from sliding back into all lols and IMHO and ****

It's "pedantry", although "pedantism" is also correct.

i really really really hope they accept me...
but if Brown doesn't give me any $$(they probably won't), then I'm gonna have to go somewhere else that will give me some $$.

sad..but it's the reality.

Making up words is entirely acceptable....if the people understand the meaning.

In my history class last year I used the word "proslaveryites", with a footnote....it boded well.

I've also tried to apply "randomimity", but it turns out I'm not cool enough to set trends.

the purpose of this thread has completely gone astray.

Oh noooo...thread drift....hides shaking in corner

It's the only way for us to escape the harshness of decisions as they get closer.

^^^^^^^^^ True :)

i'm pumped that only 39% of applicants were male. of the 4 people that applied from my school, i was the only male. this is making brown look like more of a reality.

then again, i'm getting way ahead of myself.

Let's get the acceptance letters mailed for us males!

Up top for the Y chromosome!

they probably aren't going to show too much favoritism for males with only a 60/40 split -- it's not like MIT's applicant pool or something

lol finally a university that has a higher acceptance rate for us Y folk

I'm not saying I'm gay or anything, its just that I wanna be accepted. Then, its gonna be "hey "x", come here often"

^by the way, I've never used and never will use that pick up line in my life.

Merudh, I will try that pick up line on a hot girl :p

I honestly don't know...I REALLY REALLY hope I get in...but something tells me i won't....

I didn't really have my hopes up for admission, but when Byerly said that 39% of the applicants were male, I figured I might have a shot.

I guarantee I'll be accepted.

(No, I'm not that cocky. I figure it's like guaranteeing a win in a big playoff game. Win and you get Joe Namath legendary status. Lose and everyone forgets anyway. Plus this thread needed some positivity. :) )

Rejected! Hum... My interviewer just sent me an email, though telling me that if I had any questions about Brown I should call her and to wish me luck. I'm pretty sure I'm not in. Like 99% sure.

def rejected
Might as well resign myself to that sad fact now.
