Documenting my College Admissions Process as a URM

CONGRATS ON CORNELL! You have amazing stats, and I get your struggle! I am one of 4-5 black students in my grade (243 people), and I’ve been fetishized to outright been the butt-end of racist jokes. I just got into Yale through SCEA myself, and my good friend got in to Yale with a full-ride! Just goes to show that us three prove people wrong! We worked hard, and anyone who uses the affirmative action argument is just mad that white privilege is dying in the college world. We all got in because of our hard work and dedication. Idk u, but I am so proud of your accomplishments! You are going to be the best thing Cornell has ever seen!!

Thank you so much. Congrats on Yale! I can relate so much. I was 1 of 2 black people in my grade.

Thank you! I sincerely wish you the best in college! It’s so hard being the only black kid, but we prevailed!

Senioritis is so real

Northeastern EA results recently came out. 12 people applied in my school and the only one who got in was a black kid. So you know that caused controversy…people act like he has no right to apply to this school…he has a good GPA, mid 1400 SAT relatively good application overall so I wasn’t surprised but people were insulting the poor boy. I felt bad for him. Some girl who applied with a lower GPA and 1300 SAT kept insulting him (saying he’s not that smart even though he’s way smarter than her etc.) even though she had lower stats than he does. She got deferred and there were people with much higher stats than her that got straight rejected so in my opinion she should be the last one talking about him… People are so ridiculous sometimes. They even tried to blame me as the cause of getting everyone rejected and deferred even though I took out my application once I got my ED acceptance. But nobody said anything when the Chinese girl with a 1400 on her SAT got into UPenn with nothing very unique to her application…the hypocrisy is insane. Im starting to think people just hate affirmative action because they hate seeing a black, Latino, Native, etc get in regardless of how good of a student they are in all honesty because that didn’t even make sense.
