This interests me too, however I am in an opposite position. I received a 730 Bio M, but a 5 on the AP Bio exam. How are our situations viewed by adcoms?

I'd like to know the same thing. I only scored a 700 on my Bio M and am still waiting for my scores; however, I have a friend who scored a 670 on Bio M, but got a 5 on the AP. I mean, how does that pan out. So I guess, in actuality, this is a two part question.

1.Does a High SAT II score compromise a low AP score.
2.Does a high AP score compromise a low SAT II score.

For admissions, no college requires an official score report, so you can choose to omit certain AP scores from your application. If you have a low AP score but a high SAT II score, you can leave the AP score off and have colleges look at your SAT II score.

However, when the situtation is reversed, it's not so clear. Some colleges have numbers driven admissions where they factor in your SAT scores and class rank as a major part of the admissions decision. In this case, there is no way to hide the lower SAT II score and it may hurt you. But most top level schools don't have numbers driven admissions and they will look at both your SAT II and AP scores. There are numerous reasons why one of your test scores may be lower than the others and if your other test scores are high, then the one low score could have a lesser effect. However, I would never rely on a AP score to make up for a low SAT II score. Try to get two/three strong SAT II scores (depending on the college) - any lower scores will be given minimal consideration by most colleges.

in "A for Admission"
the person said that if someone gets like high-600 SAT II and scores a five on the AP, it's looked at as a positive thing b/c it shows that the person can do college-level work.

I guess the other way (high SATII and low AP) can't be bad either cuz adcoms are supposed to use SAT II as admissions factor.

do you even need to send in ap scores to colleges before you are actually admitted into the college? would it be beneficial to you(provided you have decent scores) to send your ap scores along with your application? Also, how would this compare to the SAT II? For example, i got a 730 on the SAT II Bio-M and a 5 on the AP exam? Should i retake the SAT II and shoot for a higher score or would both a 730 and a 5 make it look decent enough?
