Does Anyone Know About The Classics Program at Wellesley?

<p>My name is Allyson, and I'm considering Wellesley as one of my colleges. However, I can't get a lot of information off the website about the Classics department, and there isn't an e-mail address for a professor listed. Does anyone know any details?</p>

<p>The Classics Department has some really phenomenal professors. Contact the person at the bottom of [url="<a href="http://www.wellesley.edu/ClassicalStudies/CLSTWWW/Resources/StudentQuestions.1.html#still%20have%20a%20question%22%5Dthis%5B/url"&gt;http://www.wellesley.edu/ClassicalStudies/CLSTWWW/Resources/StudentQuestions.1.html#still%20have%20a%20question"]this[/url&lt;/a&gt;] page for department information! He's one of the professors in the department. Alternatively, you could email either of the students listed at the bottoms of each of the newer pages; they could at least direct you to the department chair.</p>

<p>Do you have any particular questions about the department?</p>

<p>Thank you very much for that website. That is exactly what I need. I was wondering about a few things, namely average class size, the number of Classics majors, and teacher's certification.</p>

<p>This semester, the largest class size is 28, followed by 25. The rest are all under 20, and often under 10 students, with one class of 3 students. The average comes out to about 11 students.</p>

<p>I don't know about the number of majors, but [url="<a href="http://www.wellesley.edu/Education/Teacher_ed/teacher_ed.html%22%5Dhere%5B/url"&gt;http://www.wellesley.edu/Education/Teacher_ed/teacher_ed.html"]here[/url&lt;/a&gt;] is the information on teacher certification. You would need to talk to the education department about your options! If you want middle school or high school certification, you can only major in a select number of subjects. Elementary certification is less restrictive.</p>

<p>Thank you so much for your help! That gives me just about everything that I need to know. I feel much better now.</p>
