Last week I talked to my AP World History teacher I had last year, and apart from the guessing penalty he said that CB is deciding to switch from five answer choices for MC questions to four for the AP exams. He also said they are not doing it next year, but it will happen in the next four years. Can anyone confirm this? I can't find this info anywhere else.

Holy ****. That would amazing.

I hope that they don’t take out the correct answers.

some tests already have four choices. music theory and art history for example.

Well next year they’re completely changing the whole AP curriculum for some APs, such as AP World History, so it’s definitely a possibility.

Chaosdog, where did you find out that they are completely changing the whole AP curriculum for some APs? Link?

My former AP World teacher, who is responsible for writing an essay question for the revised exam (2012?), told me last year that the multiple choice will be going down to 4 answer choices instead of 5.

chaosdog, really? for world history?so that means what?

Quite a few AP courses will see significant changes in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. For the AP science courses, the content will be less broad and more focussed on primary topics.

See, for example, the changes planned for [world history](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools).

Ugh, all these changes are ridic. I thought eliminating the incorrect answer penalty was enough.

Oh, good. These are starting with the 2011-2012 school year. Not me. =D

Yes, it won’t apply to the 2011 test, but it is expected to take place in 2012. We AP teachers received this info from the CB this past summer at our institute trainings.
