I checked my D's financial Aide portal and it said that the CWRU Fianancial Aid Form was not received. And then it continues to say that First Year Undergraduate Applicants for the 2014-15 year are required to complete the CWRU Financial Aid Form after they have confirmed their enrollment for the Fall 2014 semester with Undergraduate Admissions. It is a bit confusing to me as to how this form affects my financial aid package. I can't confirm D's enrollment until I know the full financial aid package. Can anyone tell me what this is and if it is needed in order to get a financial aid package?

I would suggest contacting admissions and asking them if the above doesn’t help.

It doesn’t affect your fa package:

First Year Undergraduate Applicants for the 2014-15 year are required to complete the CWRU Financial Aid Form after they have confirmed their enrollment for the Fall 2014 semester with Undergraduate Admissions.

You do not need it to receive your financial aid package. It may be clickable. Ours was, and. I filled it out last week. After you fill it out BUT before you enroll , it will show as received but NOT Reviewed. They will not review it until after you have enrolled formally.

Thanks for clarifying. Does anyone know when and how does Case informs you of your financial aid package?

Was available at the same time as the decision. Check your case online portal.

annie2018 - even fafsa? My D was EA so she knew since December.

There are now some changes on your FA portal --namely and at least showing the 2014-2015 increases in tuition and room and board-ugh…for those who were accepted EA but the financial aid director told us last week that the final offers and packages will arrive in the mail shortly (this month).

Please note we did receive a complete “preliminary package” in December via the snail mail and in the acceptance envelope when D was EA accepted.

murphy1008, not too sure what you mean by “even fafsa?” i assume you filled one out. But on the 15th when we got the decision, to the right of the decision webpage, there was this:

Visit our New Student Portal at case.edu/newstudents
Review your financial aid award (if applicable)
Like the CWRU Class of 2018 on Facebook
When you are ready, submit your $500 enrollment deposit

So I clicked on “Review your financial aid award (if applicable).” It took me here: <a href=“Financial Aid | Case Western Reserve University”>Financial Aid | Case Western Reserve University;

So try that webpage. Same userid/password as the admissions portal.

annie2018 I was under the impression that a final financial aid package isn’t determined until the fafsa is filed and received by the colleges. My D’s portal just displays scholarship offer so I was wondering when the we would receive the financial aid information. It seems washdcmom answered it for me. @ washdcmom thanks for the info.

Murphy1008 (we were posting at the same time ;-))

I went back to D’s portal tonight, and the new info on new tuition and room and board rates that has been displayed all week has been removed so maybe they are now be uploading the final package. People who are accepted early action like it sounds like your child and ours were issued a preliminary financial aid package in December. I assume you completed the CSS in the fall and submitted it? They would have based your December initial/estimated package on that data. After submitting the FAFSA, they were to take another look and may or may not tweak or alter. Most people say it usually remains the same. Obviously if family income was actually different or your child wins a big applied for scholarship, all bets are off and an entirely different package might arrive.

PS The Financial Aid Director was pretty firm on us waiting for the hard copy and that anything final will be arriving via snail mail this month.

washdcmom
I forgot about the CSS profile which I did submit in the Fall. I hope D’s portal changes from what it is showing now! Case tuition has gone up, yikes!

lol yes My husband saw that–increases in Room and Board too–and said geez I hope that package changes… I want the whole process to be over.I’m exhausted!!
