Dear HudsonValley51...

Same with us, pure speculation, but I want it over for her. This year did not play out at all as we had expected. Elite private school, excellent grades, 10 varsity letters, class officer, 3.7 unweighted GPA and 1310 boards. 7 AP's...
Barnard wait-listed her; BC, Vandy, Duke and now W&M declined; Wake, Elon, Miami-Ohio and Providence accepted. As with you, I wanted her to feel good at the end of it all even though she has locked into Wake in her mind. I have always felt that it's really hard to change the plan that life has for you, but the concept is less acceptable to a 17 year old. In the end and as with your own daughter, I know they will be happy in the road they travel.

Waitlisted today. Disappointed, but I already got accepted to a school or two that I prefer to W&M.

Finally got letter today - D was accepted. All decisions are in. Now comes the task of weighing opportunities and cost, or rather, the cost of the opportunities. I'm glad she got in, but still really wish we were done with this process.

brian, Wake is one of D's schools also. We really like WFU a lot. Our D may be joining yours there depending on said costs.

FLVADAD...At the end of the day, Wake is need blind, our EFC is 11K, and I'll figure out a way to make it work for her. Hope your D ends up heading to Wake with ours. We're taking her there this weekend so she can spend more time on campus. They did a quick trip over a year ago...

brian - just sent you a PM.
