Does applying early (not ED) increase your admission's chance?

Does a RD app received on say Dec 1st have a "leg up" (all else being equal) over a RD app received on Dec 30th? The extra month could give the Admission Committee (or Reader) more time to review it (extra reviews and/or a more thorough review), and could demonstrate increased interest and/or better time management.

On the other hand, since it's a relative performance bar to get in, the timing of the app shouldn't matter--it's the quality of the app versus all the other apps. Does anyone know the answer to this question?

Thanks!

The date an application was submtited has no bearing on the decision made. In fact, we don’t even know the day an application was submitted when reviewing an application. And each application goes through the same review process regardless of date submitted. Certainly there’s no harm in submitting an application early and it will allow us to process it faster since we’ll be working with fewer applications the farther away from a deadline we are but it will not increase your chances of admission.

Okay, thanks!
