Does being a gap year student mean I have lesser chance of being accepted ?

<p>I have 2A<em>s ,7A's and 2 B's in my GCE O levels CIE board (British system).And SAT1 of 2190.Also in my GCE A levels(CIE) I have 3A</em> 6A's and 1 B.I am a gap year student from Pakistan and a future international undergrad student with a target school of Imperial College,Hong kong University for Beng Mech.Do you think i have a chance of being accepted at above mentioned considering my gap year?Does being a gap year student mean I havea lesser chance of acceptance?</p>

<p>absolutely not – if anything gap students have a better chance of admission because college admission officers view the extra year as an added year of maturity. however being an international student you will have a lower admission rate at most U.S. colleges, even more so if you are applying for financial aid. U.S. colleges give very little aid to international students.</p>
