I’m hearing mixed responses to this question. Any opinions or stories to share?
No, I do not believe UT considers legacy at all. I know too many kids whose parents graduated from there that did not get in or did not get their major even though they were good students.
According to their Common Data Set (page 7), they do not consider relationships with alumni.

Of course, based on everything that happened a few years go, we know there are exceptions, but unless you have reason to think you are an exception (you are a seven figure donor, you are politically connected, etc.), then most likely it won’t be considered. UT specifically targets first generation college students when they can. A lot of alumni dislike it but that is the way it is.
