Does binghamton have an orgo 1 lab?

Title pretty much says it all but I'm having a hard time getting anyone on the phone to answer my question.

Going through the course list I see no sections, which really scares me as a premed since I NEED that full year of orgo labs.

I am considering taking it at a local community college that I know has a pretty good program/prof. + the fact the lecture and lab are offered together.

If you take a look at the "organic chem section" here:

Binghamton University - Academics: Schools and Colleges: Harpur Advising: Pre-Health: Curriculum: Medicine

You will find that those course sections correspond to orgo 1, orgo 2 and orgo 2 lab which is the same courses that are found in the course list for fall 2011.

Any information would be appreciated.

there are MANY pre-med students at Binghamton and MANY do get into med school – so first of all, calm down.

have you tried contacting people in pre-health advising? [Binghamton University - Academics: Schools and Colleges: Harpur Advising: Pre-Health: Contact Information](http://www2.binghamton.edu/pre-health/contact.html) if you can’t reach anyone on the phone, maybe you can email them? carefully explain your question – ie what you understand you need for pre-med and your question as to what is offered and how it in fact meets pre-med requirements.

have you looked at the freshman-sophomore pre-health handbook? http://www2.binghamton.edu/pre-health/documents/FrSoHandbook2011.pdf</a> (i don’t know if it answers your specific question, but it has a lot of pre-health info in general)

I think it’s safe to assume that the pre-Med track has taken into account the requirements for most - if not all - med schools.

Well unfortunately many schools have it wrong. Fortunately for us Binghamton does not. Med schools require a “full year” of both orgo I + lab and orgo II + lab. However binghamton structures it in such a way that the “full year” is satisfied by an extensive orgo II lab – all is well again in the world.
