So I do the IB diploma, but I heard Brown doesn’t exactly let students shave the course off like they do for AP takers. So if I don’t take AP classes BUT still take the AP exams and get a 4 or a 5, will Brown give me more credit?

I tried writing an explanation and found it too confusing, so here are Brown’s links: [International Certification](<a href=“International Exam Policies and Procedures | The College | Brown University”>International Exam Policies and Procedures | The College | Brown University) and [Advanced Placement Information](<a href=“Advanced Placement Exams | The College | Brown University”>Advanced Placement Exams | The College | Brown University).

Brown doesn’t really give credit (towards the 30 passed courses needed for graduation) for AP courses, just placement and a notation on your transcript. They may give credit for IB, but it’s apparently not automatically granted and needs to be petitioned for.
