I'm currently only a sophomore but my goal is pre-med and Dartmouth and because I am taking IB in next two years of my high school career, I wanted to know whether they recognize IB as a higher level program.
As I junior, I'm taking 4 HL IB classes(equivalent GPA-wise to AP), 2 AP's and two SL IB classes (equivalent to honors). Would Dartmouth only count the IB classes in the same way that they would a AP or do they actually see it as a separate program? Does taking IB help me in any way to get into Dartmouth?

IB will definitely help you get in; Dartmouth wants to see rigorous course work. In my eyes, Dartmouth undervalues IB scores a bit in terms of credit given. In most cases you need a 6 or 7 for a credit or to place out of something, which seems much stricter than a 4 or 5 on the AP level. That being said, unspecified credits aren't really that valuable, and placing out of intro level courses is nice, but not really that important. It's certainly not something that I would let prevent me from going here. My understanding is that they count IB as the same as AP.
