Also, if you live off-campus at Harvard but still are really involved with clubs and the university and spend alot of time there.....will you still be missing out?

Officially the school does not allow fraternities and sororities. There are a few, however, off campus. But they are not residential. The sorority sisters remain in their respective residence Houses.

IMO, a student would miss out by living off campus. Very few choose to move off campus.

How do I contact these sororities if I want to join...I can't find anything on the harvard website.

You won't find anything on the Harvard website because Harvard does not officially allow or recognize sororities.

There are very few Harvard students who live off campus. Some opt to live in the co-op rather than the residential houses when they are upperclassmen.

Google is your friend. Try Googling "Harvard" and "sororities."
This method also will work with many of the other questions that you ask.

Very few Harvard students live off campus. Even most students who are from Boston live on campus.

Yes, by living off campus, you'd miss much of the benefits of going to Harvard -- the amazing on-campus extracurriculars, which give you a great opportunity to interact with some of the most interesting students in the country.

I would ask why you want to contact the sororities right now (assuming you're prefrosh). The rush process isn't uber-competitive, and although some girls get cut, it's nothing like Southern schools where the pledge-class has been picked before girls even get there.
If you're still interested in getting in touch with the sororities here though, Harvard has a chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, a chapter of Delta Gamma, and a chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. I'm sure their national websites could give you more specific information about the harvard chapters.

If you are a student at Harvard's Extension School as you are planning to be, you will not be able to participate in ECs that are for Harvard College students. The Extension School is not the same as is Harvard College.
