People are telling me not to get a job, because I won’t get alot of financial aid because they think you’re putting the money towards college, when really you’re gonna spend it on normal teenager things. Soooo is this true or what???

you have to include it in your fafsa, so it depends how much you make. and it probably is true; if u make $1000 at a job then they’ll probably deduct $1000 from your aid.

If you need the job though, take it. It usually isn’t a spot-on deduction. They’ll take expenses into account, especially if you write about it in an addendum. Also, you put how much you have in savings on the fafsa. So if you had the job and spent it on gas, car insurance, food…heck, even if you just spent it on video games, they can’t really count the money against you.
