My son is in one of those wonderful "standard" triples in South Quad. I'm just wondering if students have seen some movement in the housing crunch in winter term. Maybe this triple could become a substandard double? Is there a light at the end of this very small tunnel?

I wish your son best of luck for whatever he's doing, SQ Housing is a headache for my RA right now and I can just imagine what else is happening.

We visited son last Sunday and had a brief conversation with his RA. We asked the RA how it was going and he said, "Not bad so far. South Quad has had two cases of alcohol poisoning so far, but none in my house." He didn't elaborate, but I presume that meant students who had to be taken to the hospital. A little disturbing....

Oh... so that's what those were for... >_>

I've seen worse in SQ. A couple people I know got alcohol poisoning while in the dorm. I saw a girl who must have been high on something just flip out. She was scared ****less and was just screaming at the top of her lungs like a horror movie for 20 minutes. It took five DPS officers to finally take her away, and she was an athlete.

On top of that, the honors kids are nuts.

How are the honors kids nuts?

A lot of them are just out of control.

To answer SBDad's question - some rooms will open up next term as students graduate and go for study abroad. It might be difficult, however, for your son to stay with his roommates. Might have a better shot at a single. There's a "wait list" process for applying. He should research it online so that he knows when it's happening and what to do. Housing is, unfortunately, very tight this year.
