Does Intended Major Matter? My extracurriculars do not match my intended major?

Hi! I am a current senior with a 34 ACT, 3.98 GPA and I am a National Merit Semifinalist. (Hopefully a finalist!) I am applying to schools such as Tulane, Northeastern, UMich, UVA, UNC Chapel Hil, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, William and Mary and Vanderbilt as a Molecular Biology Major. (possible theatre double major?)
During high school, I have been incredibly involved with the theatre community and my extracurriculars are filled with theatre activities. I have worked in productions at my local university, competed in the musical theatre competition of America, performed at improv festivals around the country and been the president of the theatre club at my high school. Theatre has been such an important part of my life, so I wrote about my theatre experiences in my Common App essay.
Now here’s my concern,
As a hopeful microbiology major, I have absolutely no extracurriculars or experience in anything relating to science, since I have spent so much of my time focussing on theatre.
Will it hurt my application as a microbiology major if I have only theatre-related extracurriculars and my common app essay is on theatre’s impact in my life?
Some people I’ve talked to say that it will show that I have a diverse skill set, will make my application pop, and show commitment to one subject area. However, others say that it will hurt my chances since I have nothing in my application about science (except for a letter of rec from my AP Biology teacher).
Sorry for the long-winded question. This would be a lot easier if I wanted to be a theatre major but I love biology and want to do it in college.
Thanks!
