Does it matter where you finish your undergraduate studies?

I graduated last summer (I graduated early, I didn't fail a year) and I was stupid and did not apply for the fall semester to school, but I applied to the spring semester at MTSU. My problem is, I really wanted to go to Hollins and I know they don't offer spring admissions to first time applicants. If I can't get into Hollins, does it matter really where I go to finish my pre-med requirements or will MTSU hold me done and keep me from my dream job, which would be an anesthesiologist. Also, does my high school record have any weight if I apply to medical school?

My high school stats were:
GPA unweighted: 3.3
GPA weighted: unknown
Honors classes taken: 12 (out of 21 classes in total)
AP: 1
ACT score: 22
Extracurricular: 300+ hours of community service, treasurer of my class and Art Honors society for 2 years, Spanish club member for three years, drama club one year, Student council for 3 years, and president of Art honors society at my school, and countless committees I attended to.

What things can I do to increase my chances to medical school? Does taking a semester off hurt, even if I do volunteer work? What jobs might help my admissions to medical school? What major would be best? If I do have a chance to transfer to Hollins, would the transfer hurt my chances of getting admitted? What if I take summer classes and graduate early?

Thanks!

I can’t see how a semester off would hurt, as long as you do something during that time. Your high school achievements don’t matter in medical school admission.
