Does MIT consider a 1370 in SAT?

I am an international student applying this year. I got a 1370 on the October SAT. Will MIT take other components of my application seriously with this score?

Where are you from? What sort of grades do you have? Why do you want to go to MIT?

1370 is quite low for MIT. When I was there I remember one student who had an SAT this low, but it was from getting 800 on math and 550 on English. He was top in his high school in math and science, had very strong subject tests (800’s), and dropped out by the end of Freshman year.

Getting in as an international student is generally more difficult than for domestic (US) students.

Doubt it unless you scored 800 (or close to it) on the math section, 800 (or close to it) on science/math SAT2’s, English is not your first language and you have done some amazing published research and/or won some internationally recognized awards. Here is the most recent Common Data Set for MIT http://web.mit.edu/ir/cds/2017/c.html for you to see relevant stats.

I got above 700 on the math section, and I do have 800s on my Math 2 and Physics subject test. This going to work?

What is your TOEFL score? What are your grades? MIT does not admit by test scores alone although they are important.

Extreme long shot even assuming great grades and other aspects of your app. Your SAT score puts you at the very bottom of the accepted student pile based on the CDS. Your chances are 0 if you don’t apply, but if you are serious about studying in the US, cast your net wider to include schools where your scores put you at or above the median.
