does my undergraduate GPA affect my phd admission?

hello everyone,

I'm going to study phd in USA soon in civil engineering.

nowdays, I'm preparing my documents to apply.

there is something I'm afried of, that is my GPA in Undergraduate.

i got 2.10 out 4 in 2007.

but two years later I did master in uk and I got it with distiction.

my GPA was 3.67 out 4 .. ( all courses grades were between A or A-)

so i'm wondering does my undergraduate GPA will play a vital role in getting phd offer in USA ?

I wish that I will be able to get offer from a good ranking university.

does anybody have any Idea?

thanks
Hani

Your undergraduate GPA will be considered, but it will not matter as much as your master’s degree as long as your master’s is related to what you want to study.
