Does [NO ONE] know the ANSWER?!?

About cancelling AP tests (deadline was today)--if a student was to cancel his or her exam, do the official score reports that the COLLEGE'S see, still state that the exam was taken, and instead of the score, put something like, "Grade cancelled?"

Or is the test erased from the record completely? Because if it was the above scenario, what would be the point of cancelling?

I posted this same thread in other forums(sorry)...but no luck x_X.

I don't see why it would matter because you usually self-report AP scores on an application.

If you would like to call/email and ask:
(609) 771-7300 or (888) 225-5427 (toll-free in the U.S. and Canada)

trix, my understanding is that it shows up on your transcript if it is cancelled.

Grade Cancellation

Grade cancellation deletes an AP Exam grade permanently from your records. Grades may be canceled at any time. However, for grades not to appear on the current year's grade report, AP services must receive a signed letter requesting cancellation by June 15. While there is no fee for this service, your exam fee is not refunded. The grade report that you and your school receive will indicate that the grade has been canceled.

just your high school I think

I think this is how it works, someone please correct me if this is wrong:

When you take the AP test, you filled in a section indicating which college you want to receive your scores. In order for THAT college to NOT receive your scores, you must cancel prior to June 15.

If you cancel after June 15, your grade will be permanently removed, but you cannot prevent that college from receiving your report. Otherwise, when it's your senior year, and you send an official report to other colleges, they will not see anything

I really do think the report still shows that you took the exam, the score just doesnt show up. Someone email collegeboard and resolve this.

i hope that is not the case...cause i cancelled one of my scores for ART history examination. SHOOOT! Someone verify this.

Trix-D, this is the answer from collegeboard on my question a few days ago.
Net, you can cancel it and college can not see any records or cancellation information. School means the high school not the colleges you apply. :-)

Thank you for contacting AP Services. We apologize for the delay in replying.

Please be advised that if you cancel your grade, the exam and grade is deleted from your records. It will not appear on your official score report after the cancellation is processed.

The statement is refering to the high school in which you attend.
If you would have cancelled your grade before June 15, 2006, the score report the high school would have received would have stated cancelled.

Yes Students can cancel any grade that is in our active database (2002-2006) at any time. Next year the active database will consist of 2003-2007 scores .

We hope this information is helpful.

If you write to us again, please include all previous messages.

Sincerely,
AP Services
