My S was accepted to HC this weekend and received a Holy Cross scholarship of 36000. I’m sure this is need based aid because it is very close to our EFC. Our older daughter is also in college right now and that brings down our EFC. Does anyone have experience with what happens to the scholarship amount after the older kid graduates. I’m sure our EFC will go up significantly. Does that mean we are probably looking at a decrease of several thousand dollars in my sons scholarship at that point?
I am in the same situation. I may ask them to recalculate with just one in school
@jjplus3 Please post if you find out anything
My S was also accepted but offered only $12K HC scholarship making attendance way out of his price range. Is there still any chance to negotiate a bigger scholarship?
I just called Financial Aid at HC and they were extremely helpful. The person ran numbers to see what my son’s scholarship would look like if he were the only one in college and it would decrease by 16500 a year, so a very significant deduction in financial aid.
I called yesterday. Ours did not decrease by quite that amount but still enough to give us pause. It is so close to being feasible, yet so far…
