Does Stanford defer many people/ any people from EA?

Does anyone know the stats on numbr of people deffered early action, and then accepted or rejected RD?

about 25% are accepted, 25% deffered and 50% rejected

If someone is deferred, can she/her still send in December SAT scores?

yes, if you are deferred, you can send any updates you have by the RD time.

hey just fyi, I went to an info session last night, and the admissions officer said (for Early):
19% accepted
60% rejected
soo 31% deferred.

He also said that those deferred had a higher than average rate of getting in regular.

Yen, your percentages add up to 110%. I bet that’s 50% rejected, not 60%

sorry I can't do math... no actually, I definitely remember 19% accepted, 60% rejected... and I attempted to calculate the amount deferred. But no, it's definitely 60% rejected. Thanks for correcting me though.

no i'm pretty sure it's 20-30-50 (accept-defer-reject) and last year, ccers were 50-30-20 (accept-defer-reject). hope we do just as well or better :)

AH! THAT MEANS I HAVE A 50% CHANCE OF NOT GETTING REJECTED!!!

: D

(Does a traditional punjabi dance)

I really hate to say it but I am 100% sure he said 60% rejected early last year. But whatever...

Or maybe you're 110% sure?

lmfao soccerfanatic...

give him some slack :) he just made a little slip up ...

I agree with bobobabob. 60% seems too high a percentage for EA rejection rates. However I do find that ccers have a much higher acceptance rate
