Hi

It's been a long time since I'd posted on here. Hmmm... I missed college discussion: its intensity (you are never good enough), crazy (sorry, but quite frankly) parents asking for their son's chances, international students speaking like 4 different languages, etc....

Anyway, I'm here again, because I know people here know the best when it comes down to law school admissions and my chances. Recently, I got in the study abroad program at Cambridge, and I am wondering if going to UK could hurt my chance in law schools.

I just turned to a senior at UC Berkeley, and luckily I could finish all the requirement courses by the Fall 09 semester. Well, since I hope to study law after I finish my BA degree, I do not wish to pursue something without a plan. I want to know if I am risking my chances by going to UK. My GPA will be 3.75 (if I manage A- average) if I only stay in CAL for Fall. But If I choose not to go to Cambridge, the GPA could go around 3.8 and higher (if I work hard and schedule the classes loosely).

My plan in Cambridge is solely for an academic reason. I'm planning to take two Political Science classes in Cambridge and one European Geopolitics and one History of Art class =) Very excited to see European perspectives to global issues. On the other hand, if I choose to stay in the Bay Area, I plan to participate in loads of activities as well. Either going to UK or staying in the Bay, as youguys would too, I will try to make my experience the most valuable one. But I have to admit that I could participate in more community works in the Bay than in UK. With that said, is going to Cambridge still a smart choice? Should I postpone taking classes in UK later in future and focus on getting high GPA and serving for community for now? Timing is everything. I need help. Any comment will be appreciated!
