Does the major you choose at USC make a difference?

Does USC accept by major? If so, does anyone know the most competitive majors to get into for USC?

Yes… it can make a huge difference. Among those majors with the lowest admission rates include Dance, Iovine and Young Academy, BFAs generally in all Schools and all of the various School of Cinematic Arts majors.

Engineering is also a very competitive major. Some merit awards are also related to the major and school you get into. Your choice of major isn’t set in stone and CAN be changed. Our D went from Sociology major to undecided to cinema and it went fine for her.

Some majors (like engineering) have a lot of requirements from freshman year, so if you dally you may take longer to graduate.

@HImom I’m planning to choose a major in the Dornsife college.
