Would it be advantageous to send the LOCI to Columbia as soon as possible, or can we send it at the end of April in order to include more awards and more recent grades?
They say that they will consider everyone at May 1st and later, but can the timing of the letter make an impact on that?
The admissions office is not looking at the waitlist yet. They still have to focus on the admitted students first. They won’t get an idea of the yield until after May 1, and that is when they’ll know how many open spots are left.
Why not send your letter shortly after May 1 to have the greatest impact? This is when it will be fresh in their minds.
