I'm so confused...does UC Berkeley look at your high school GPA at all? If they do, then that means they DO look at freshman year, doesn't it? Since your freshman grades matter for your high school GPA? I would greatly appreciate some help with these questions.

I think the UC GPA only accounts for grades in your sophomore and junior year. Someone else can confirm this.

GPA for UC freshman admissions comes from 10th and 11th grade course grades in a-g subject courses:

[University of California - Calculating GPA](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/q-and-a/calculating-gpa/index.html)

However, since Berkeley has gone to a holistic admissions process, the freshman grades are presumably visible when they look at the high school transcript as part of the holistic admissions process.
