How much does UChicago care about USACO ? How much about:

  1. Platinum
  2. Gold
  3. Silver

Sure, all univesities are going to care to some degree about National competitions, especially in the area of study you are applying to.

USACO finalist is almost a ticket.
Platinum is a valuable boost but needs to pair with a good GPA, Test Score, etc.
Gold is noticeable too, should consider a nice achievement.
SIlver is some achievement, good to have if you are not a CS major.
