Does UF offer full ride to National Merit Finalists Out of State or is that only for in-state?

Hi I just posted this on a NMF thread but am thinking it might get a faster response here. I actually just called UF and spoke with an admissions person who answered my question with “I think that is in the works for next year” but that seemed like an odd answer and I may have to call back
I know UCF offers a full ride to NMFs that are out of state and it clearly states it in their online information. I cannot find anything saying UF does this for OOS – is that correct? Thx!
(We live in Maine and money is definitely a huge deciding factor)

OOS NMF’s are eligible for full COA at a number of Florida schools, including UF, as a result of changes made this year to the Benaquisto Scholarship program.

In March, the state legislature pass an update to the Benacquisto Scholarship (pays full COA) that expanded it to OOS students. I believe it goes into effect this fall. The school may not yet have received updated guidance from the state on how to handled it. Google Benacquisto Scholarship for details.

UCF does a good job of explaining all the benefits it offers to NM Finalists but I cannot find much info on UF. Does it also cover COA or am I learning that is ONLY to in-state residents? My daughter would be OOS and we are trying to decide if it makes sense to tour there when we tour UCF. The Burnett Honors College seems like a definite plus but I know that UF rates much higher as a university so do not know if we should consider?

anyone who has considered both that would like to compare?

USF just sent S19 an email congratulating him on his high PSAT score and spelling out their expanded OOS NMF scholarship so I think it is a definite. But curious, does NMSC send schools a list of probable NMSF this early? S19 is on the bubble but seems to have decent shot (1 point above last year’s cutoff which is predicted to hold steady in our state) but certainly not a lock in. Was surprised to see the email.

I’d look at USF. It is in such a nice area as compared to UF, FSU, or UCF. Beach!

University of Miami is a private institution, so their NMF offering will be different.

If you attend “the U”, the Benacquisto scholarship (which is state sponsored) will pay the COA of attending a Florida Public university, which is about $21K or $22K a year…
