So my first senior semester GPA was some booty because I had a lot of family issues i had to deal with. My grandfather has cancer, he fell down the stairs and badly bruised his leg. It took many months for recovery and I had to be there every time cause I love my grandfather and I was a translator. Later on my grandfather had two surgeries, one was pretty major and that made me stay in the waiting room for 9 hours.
My mother sued a school for worker’s compensation and I had to be there to help translate. I missed school for a lot of day and in my county family emergencies does not count for excused absent so I have like 5 unexcused absents and a lot of “ill days” to help with my family’s problems.
My GPA dropped a lot…
I got in UMD with a conditional acceptance so that worries me whether they revoke their conditional decision.
Is there a way to explain all this to UMD? I don’t have senioritis(I think)
Not that I am aware of. I emailed them asking this and they responding saying they weren’t interested in anything after your junior year if you applied for the Nov. 1 deadline.
I’m not 100% certain if that’s different once you get conditional acceptance however, so it may be worthwhile to send an email and ask about that specifically.
