<p>Not a question, but rather some (incomplete) data from a recent entering class of Stanford EE. Excuse the sloppy format, but it's copy pasted from an excel file.</p>
<p>Stanford has ~100 entering PhD and ~100 entering MS, but this only covers 44 PhD students and 60 MS students. I don't know what variables would affect response rate so take it for what it's worth. All of Stanford's MS co-terms are obviously not on here.</p>
<p>Notably, nearly half (13 of the 28) of the domestic PhDs come from just the top 5 EE programs (Caltech, MIT, Illinois, Stanford, Berkeley). Another 5 are from GaTech/CMU/Cornell, which are in the 6-10 range. Indian universities have very high representation, particularly in MS.</p>
