Does your high school's performance affect your college GPA

Hey guys, I just really want to ask whether your high school’s performance can have some factor toward your college GPA? In other words, if you are a mediocre student in high school (like a GPA between 3.6-3.8), is there any chance that you are going to get a 4.0 gpa in college if you work hard?

4.0’s in college are rare for any kind of student – it’s really hard to sustain a perfect record over four years. But it’s definitely possible to do better than in high school, if you set that goal and work towards it!
