I ask this because I have some friends who have had to take classes in different sports or physical activities. My school doesn't make students do that nor does it offer such courses which sucks. Does your school offer courses like that?

They offer them but most majors won't accept them as credit for graduation.

I was able to get one credit of free elective for my racquetball class; you were allowed to have up to three credits of athletic or student taught courses as free electives.

I think the School of Rehabilitation Sciences makes their students take at least one phys. ed. class, but my school doesn't require me to take any non-academic classes.

They don't require it but they offer them. My college w/in the university will accept two PEs for random elective credit. They offer lots of sports and aerobic type classes. I'm taking bowling this semester... oh so physically demanding.

we're required to take principles of fitness and wellness. half the semester is classroom stuff and the other half is physical activity. although since I'm in the education program I think I substitute the phys. ed. class required for the ed. major for fitness & wellness... I should probably find that out for sure, haha.

Cornell has a swim test:

We're not required to take any classes like that, but they offer all kinds of physical education classes if people want to take them. Yoga, circuit training, jogging, aerobics, weight training, swim for fitness, and then different sports like volleyball, bowling, golf, flag football, soccer, softball, raquetball, tennis, and there's even scuba, kayaking, water skiing, and ultimate frisbee. There's also a self-defense class, which I have taken. We offer alot of different physical activities.

My school offers them, and we have to take a creative participation requirement (2 or 3 credits). So instead of taking something like swimming or karate, I'm taking tap dance (through the dance department but still counting towards my CP credits). They offer pretty much anything, though.

My daughter is at Earlham College (Indiana), which requires four activity classes as part of general education requirements. Each class is .5 sem hours credit, and the choices range from weight-lifting, to yoga, to spelunking.

We don't have those at Tech, but looking around at all the unfit students makes me really wish we did.

It's required for us to take 2 semesters worth of physical activity.

My school changed it's requirement last year. They used to require a semester of phys ed, but they no longer do.

We're required to have one hour of phys ed. I'm actually kind of looking forward to taking mine; there's an interesting-looking Self Defense course that counts.

Mine does.. I need 2 Units of either acting class/PE class/ or ball room dancing. I'm in the cinema school (animation) so they want us to know how things move or something. I'm taking yoga right now.
