I spent some time perusing the QB site today and found that the 2 schools that S wrote for his match both require an income below ours.

So it was a good experience and the free apps will be helpful. S will only have to pay for 2 pay apps, one to a NMF full ride school and one to Tufts (unless there is some fee waiver out in the world for them).

We'll still look forward to December 1st, but know to not be disappointed when there is no match.

Good luck to the rest of the finalists!

If you call each of the admissions offices to explain your circumstances (mention the QB finalist status!), you may be able to get a fee waiver for those other apps. Sometimes a school counselor will do this for you if you ask or they can at least write something they can then fax to those colleges that verifies your family needs fee waivers.

At this point, S just has one app to pay for. Not a big deal I suppose, but we can try :-)

Thank you.

You never know! He still may get matched. If you don’t mind, how much income do you think is too much?

Our AGI is a bit under 60k. I think the schools are looking for numbers 40k and below. That is just my belief, not based on fact, actual numbers, or too much hearsay.
