Dolphin Show: Carousel

I visited Northwestern a couple weeks ago (the weekend right before the Chicago Unifieds) and was able to go see the Dolphin Show’s production of Carousel. I’m a prospective student for the class of 2012 and have a few questions for any current students since the production was not a departmental one.

I’m curious as to how indicative that production is of what the theater department (more specifically MT) does as a whole. Also, are the kids who were cast in Carousel also of the breed who are consistently cast in departmental/main stage productions.

Any insight is much appreciated! Thanks!

I'm an NU parent, not a student, but have seen Carousel and several others. Carousel was produced by Arts Alliance, which is one of the long-established student theatre groups on campus. They have a reputation for great shows, although the Dolphin Show is their largest and best known one. At least two of the leads were sophomores, and other sophomores had lead roles in another Arts Alliance show this past fall (The Fantasticks). I'll PM you with more info.
