Don't underestimate USC Computer Science

Hi There everyone:

My child is a USC Comp Sci major on NMF 1/2 tuition scholarship. I know the in and outs of financial aide, National Merit Scholarships, and getting into a good engineering/comp sci program. I bear witness that competition is brutal. EG. I believe USC took 500 new engineering students out of 10,000 applicants (Stats from Engineering Dean during orientation-last summer) A registration rate of 5%. My advice is not to underestimate the difficulty of getting into a good Comp Sci program. BTW the half scholarship is worth a little less than $14K a semester for 8 semester $112,000/265,000, total cost. A great deal, if the rest is manageable.

Acceptance rates tell me nothing about how the program is, but thank you.

And the point of this thread is???
