I was looking into dorms and I saw the North Campus and West Campus. North Campus was obviously made earlier and it is "worse" than that of West Campus. West Campus is modern, new, and the facility is just amazing. However, West Campus is around $3000 more than North Campus.

Is West Campus still worth it???

Any opinions from current students?

And maybe which dorms are the best in each campuses North and West!!! Thank you!

West Campus is nice but it REALLY depends what you prefer- North Campus res halls tend to be more social, and people often fall in love with their North Campus halls. They’re also more of the traditional college style halls, right on campus, by tennis courts/basketball courts/and closer to most classes and the HUB. So…I haven’t lived on either but I’d say that West Campus is not necessarily worth $3000 more than North. Try to see if you can still go look at the halls, I know they were running tours during ASP days, and that could give you a better idea!
West Campus- Like I’m sure you know, they’re all essentially brand new. Lander is the newest and has Local Point, Alder has the District Market, Elm has Cultivate (sit down restaurant) and the Fitness Center West, Poplar is the smallest and can often be the quietest because of that.
North Campus- McMahon has the cluster system which some people love and others hate, but again I’d say overall the main halls are virtually equal. A lot of people fall in love with Haggett! Hansee is 24/7 quiet and all single rooms, so you have to be prepared for that if you want to live there. So, I suppose for “best” I would probably say McMahon and Haggett on North Campus?

I visited McCarty (North) and a few of the West campus ones. I’m requesting North partly because of price, but I didn’t think it was really run-down or bad at all. It was nice and in a foresty area, which makes me feel at home, while the West campus dorms are like on the Ave which is very busy and urban. The floor we visited in McCarty was Avatar: the Last Airbender themed, which I thought was awesome, while all the floors in the West campus dorm we visited (I think Lander or Alder, not sure) were like Ocean or Arctic or whatever themed. McCarty was very homey and there was a nice common area with 2 TVs where the guide said people often watch movies together and play video games like Guitar Hero. It would probably be nice to have your own bathroom, plus the West campus dorms are more spacious, but I don’t think it’s worth the money for me. It all depends on you, but I hope this helps a little bit!
