Dorms?

finnsdad,
My daughter lived in Kershaw (also substance free) for 2 years. She said that no one really cares where you live. She made many great friends in Kershaw and will be living with 5 of them in an on campus apartment this year. Tell your daughter not to worry about being “labeled”. I believe “single sex” refers to the entire floor.

Ana92ksa: I second bethievt on the memory foam pad, definitely a good investment.

Any opinions or coments about Lazier Hall?

I’m in Rathje, anyone know anything about that. I know it is in east campus.

Thanks bethievt for the hint on the memory foam…I’ve seen it online at BB&B but there are so many options on matress covers that sometimes you get lost…I will look for the memory foam then…but how does it goes? do you first put a mite proof cover to wrap the matress then the memory foam on top of it and cover the whole thing wiht a fitted sheet? sorry to ask this but the pictures at BB&B were not so clear about it…thanks

As I recall, we put on a thin dust mite cover (son is allergic), then the memory foam, a matress pad and then a sheet, extra long. Not everyone loves memory foam, but my son certainly does.

I don’t know anything about Rathje or Lazier.

I recommend memory foam mattress toppers for the beds at Grinnell, but a lot of people use egg crate foam toppers and are happy with them.

The East Campus dorms are all pretty similar in construction. Rathje’s the northernmost and Lazier’s the southernmost. There’s a parking lot near Rathje and Lazier’s central location makes it pretty desirable among East Campus dorms.
