Dos and Don'ts at BS

I don’t know. Really. I don’t expect my son to call every day, but it would be nice. I don’t want to be one of those nagging “Can’t you take two minutes?!” kind of mothers, but I do expect a call every few days or so, if only to say, “I’ve been really busy.” Of course, my kids are the type who walk in the door and say “Guess what?!?!” before they say hi.

There is a whole thread about this on the parent’s forum.

Do try something new and outside your comfort zone…like squash, water polo, crew, guitar lessons…

crew = best sport ever. just saying.

and do call your parents - i would call once every 3 weeks for the first bit of school… but once or twice a week is good :)

My mom IS one of those “Can’t you take two minutes??” kind of mothers. But… a call a day? Not happening.

@frosty6, I wanted to try being the coxswain person? Can you just go and do that, or do you have to row first? :P

Try not to waste too much time. That said, don’t overwork yourself. Find a balance between working hard and socializing with friends.

nerdgeekdork - coxswain is a great position if your small… like 110lbs or less (though I do know some who are a bit over) and you don’t have to row, but you’ll learn a lot about rowing, as you’re going to need to correct your novice rowers. And don’t take the job for granted (like assuming it’s easy because you don’t need to work out) - the coxswains work really hard! You’re going to learn how to steer and such, but make sure you’re good at multitasking! Coxswains are in charge of a lot of information

Nothing to add. Just that this post makes me smile. :-)

^such a mom lol
