Dose anyone knoe of any good christian colleges in the south (HELP)

Hello and I want to know of any great Christian colleges in the south. When I say south I really mean like anywhere from Mississippi Alabama Georgia Florida Tennessee places down south! I would like it if the colleges have other things to major in besides Ministry. I really want to have a good idea for college before hand meaning before I am a Junior! also so I am being clear I would also not mind at all if the college had a nice sports program! (basketball and soccer) I would still like to minor in things like youth ministry maby even major but I am just not sure yet! Also if you would not mind telling me some of the great majors the college offers that would be great to! THANKS :)

ave maria university florida

toccoa falls college in georgia. some people i know go there and they seem to love it. never been there so no guarantee. it’s affiliated with CMA

My son is going to Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA. His second choice was Union University in Jackson, TN. I can recommend either. A family I know has a daughter going to Belhaven in MS. She loves it.

These are all recommendations if you are looking for Protestant Christian with the Christian aspect being important in all aspects of life.

TCU is a great school, over in Texas.

North Greenville University is a good school!

Greenville is also an awesome city

in SC if you didn’t already know. NGU is the best in the state for youth ministry.

and they have a great football team :)

The best christian college in my opinion in the south is Samford University in Alabama.

But I’ve heard about North Greenville University. One of my favorite pastors to listen to in my spare time is Steven Furtick and he graduated from NGU and at the church I’m going to at Clemson, the pastor’s son went to NGU.

Seconded that TCU in Texas is good. ~ it’s Disciples of Christ BTW.

Also good in Texas - Abilene Christian (Church of Christ - it’s REALLY devout though, too much for my d but perfect if that is what you seek), Baylor (Baptist) SMU (Methodist) St Edwards (Catholic, and sister school to Notre Dame)

Lots of kids from my area end up at Centenary College in Louisiana (Methodist). There’s also Loyola (Jesuit) in New Orleans.

All these schools have a wide variety of majors and campuses and atmospheres. Those are only a handful of them - Methodists in particular have a LOT of affiliated schools down here in the south. In fact they have so many I’m jealous. lol.

My family is Episcopalian and the only Episcopalian school I know of is The University of the South also affectionately known as Sewannee: if you want a nice liberal arts college in a beautiful setting with customs that seem very traditional but thinking that is very open minded (much like the Episcopal church) it’s worth a look too. Hey, it even has South in the name, can’t get more Southern that that, heh?

Oh and psst. I assume you’ve looked over the threads in this forum? [Christian Colleges - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/christian-colleges/)
