Hi guys, I would like to be able to do a double major in Music Performance and English with a concentration in writing, as well as a minor in either Women's Studies or Medieval and Renaissance studies. I would also like to try to join a couple of the clubs if at all possible. Does this sound like a crazy idea, or can it be done? Any advice is helpful.

Depends, would the music performance degree be a BA or a BM? There are only so many credit hours a semester, so you may not be able to fit all the classes in if its the latter.

I think you should talk to your adviser and see what will fit into your schedule.

What do you hope to do with those degrees? Double majoring really only makes sense if one of the topics is…well, hirable. It’s just, in this economy, there’re a lot of people with triple majors in English Lit/Russian Studies/Music Performance who’re working at Starbucks.

Do you know what you’d like to do after undergrad? Grad school? Workforce?

Now to answer the question: talk to an advisor at your school; they’re the only ones who can give you an accurate answer.
