How would a double major in Computer Science and Electric Engineering compare to a masters in Computer Engineering?
Poorly. Very few folks double major in engineering. You’ll find some exceptions (like Mechanical/Aerospace at UF), but the programs don’t share a lot of classes, so it will add up to 2 years to graduate. That’s wasted time as an engineer. Having duel degree’s doesn’t really help in recruiting (unlike co-ops, internships, design teams, etc.).
It’s better to spend the time pursuing a masters degree (or doing a co-op/internships and gaining experience).
Some schools (UF and UCF, not sure about FAU) have “combined” degrees in computer engineering, where you can earn both your BS and MS in 5 years. This is done by allowing you to count 12 credit hours of master’s level classes for both your BS and MS requirements.

I would recommend focusing on picking a major. Once you’ve been in school for a year or two, you’ll know if you want to pursue a combine degree, dual degree, minor, etc.
Good Luck!
