I've always wanted to get into business, been wanting to double major in either finance/accounting or economics/accounting for a couple years now.

probably going with the finance/accounting then either mba/or msf in finance....is this a good degree or good degrees to get?

What do you want to do? What are your interests.

It is really up to you. The job market is going to be difficult compare with the good old days. However, companies are still hiring and will continue to hire in the future. You need to put your best effort in studying, the rest will fall in place.

It may be good since those seem to be the hardest business concentrations, but at the same time, the accounting field has become very saturated with qualified candidates because accounting is consistently being ranked as a field of work with top job security AND job growth.

If you can do the 2 toughest fields in business concentrations and maintain a good gpa, get experience in those fields as an undergrad, you might be able to do pretty good for yourself.
Just remember, you also have to be able to ace an interview as well, the degree alone doesn’t do as much as we are meant to believe, it is a matter of convincing the employer with you words that you are the right person for the job.

I’m still an undergrad and applying for jobs I’m very capable of doing, but I can’t ace interviews worth a damn so I get left out in the cold. Just learn to ace interviews and provide examples in your cover letters of how you would be the right person to get them to contact you, and then sell yourself in the interview after a good cover letter, you should be okay.

Not everyone can do accounting and finance, let alone just one of those fields. Just learn to sell yourself to employers after you get the grades in those courses, you’ll be fine.

job outlook is very good.
