Double major in social science and what else?

Hello everyone,

So I'm applying to this dual degree program at Columbia where one of the degrees you get is in social science while the other is one you pick for yourself. I have 2 majors that I have in mind, astronomy and psychology(yeah, I know it's an odd mix) I know that psychology would be a better match with social science than astronomy but I want your thoughts. Can I pull off astronomy and social sciences? what would be the best match? any suggestions about other majors that could work? I'm really open to anything that's why I have a problem choosing a major.

What kind of social science? Social science covers subjects like economics, political science, sociology, psychology, history, area and ethnic studies.

Astronomy would have minimal to no overlap with any social science subject (perhaps overlapping in math for economics majors). Depending on the major and general education requirements, it may or may not be possible to fit both astronomy and a social science major into an eight semester program of study. Try going through the degree requirements and making and eight semester schedule to see if it all fits.
