Double Major: Philosophy + Economics

Hi there,

I would like to major in philosophy and am considering pursuing a double-major - a minor in economics. I have a passion for both. Both are usually top two majors that score highest on the LSAT (btw, I want to become a human rights attorney). I would imagine a major in economics would increased my chances in the job market for when I would need to work before/during law school.

Or should I minor in something that will help my career? Like minor in international studies or political science? I have interest in both fields.

Any other suggestions/thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and help!

Also, if I choose to double major, should I start taking some courses at my community college for my minor?

I think it’s a great idea. Philosophy and economics go well together and are probably the two best liberal arts majors in my subjective opinion - one that is supported with facts like the LSAT scores you refer to, as well as with my own experience. I don’t think a minor in political science or int. studies is going to make any difference if you do the econ/phil double major. Those majors will give you all the background you need for professional study.
