I am currently a freshman and know I want to major in history. I was wondering how difficult it would be to double major with sociology as well. As far as the pre-reqs go for declaring, it is pretty easy. I also wanted to know how late you can declare a double major?

Both majors are in L&S, and each requires 12 courses, for a total of 24. You will also need L&S R&C (2 courses) and at least 3 of the 7-course breadth (your majors will likely cover historical studies, international studies, philosophy and values, and social and behavioral sciences). So that would be a total of 29 courses, out of probably around 32 you will take total. So it is doable if you choose carefully.

You must have at least one declared major by your fifth semester:

L&S double major rules are given here:

The departments may have other rules.
